Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2011
As has become our tradition, we hosted our AGM at a Summer Camp location... this year's choice wasHampton Bible Camp! The advantage of facilities such as this are numerous, but primarily it allows for the whole family to come together from the various churches of the ECBA!
This year, on Friday afternoon we welcomed Ross Ramsay from Nashville, TN who brought us teaching on The Transformational Church. Ross has served as Minister of Education at various churches in North Carolina and Tennessee. He is currently with LifeWay working on the Transformational Church initiative and also serves on staff at First Baptist Gallatin, TN as the Adult Education minister.
Transformational churches make disciples whose lives are being transformed by the gospel, so that people engage the culture around them for its ultimate transformation. Deeply committed to the essential foundations of discipleship (worship, community, and mission), transformational churches practice their faith and make disciples through vibrant leadership, prayerful dependence upon God, and relational intentionality. And they do so paying mind to their unique context and with a missionary mindset.
On Saturday we heard from Gerry Taillon, the National Ministry Leader of the CNBC from Cochrane, Alberta. He has provided leadership to the CNBC since 1998. Gerry also serves as a pastor at The Pathway Church in Calgary. It's always inspiring to hear Gerry and all who attended were blessed by his participation in our time together. The following outlines our agenda to provide a bit more insight into how the proceedings unfolded.
We will hope to see you next year. Plans are already being made .. meanwhile, stay tuned!
